We draw ever closer to the place to which our souls are bound. If what we believe is true, we are but one room away now. This room had some of the most troubling defenses yet. Destroying the unholy undead has become second nature in this place, it is when we face the twisted souls that inhabit this evil place of their own free will that I find things most troubling. Monstrous creature certainly make sense to inhabit these terrible halls, but how can so many humans turn their backs to good and light? How can they so willingly accept such evil into their souls? Perhaps we will learn more in the Necromancer's chambers. Maybe the others in this place are like us soul bound to this place, perhaps they have given up hope of ever being set free...

From the Stone Tome of Thalin Dragonslayer...
I waded into the fray as best I could... We have begun to work our way towards what may be our salvation - though, that seems in doubt... The Zombie Ogres and Zombies were cut through with ease... I fear we may never escape this accursed tomb... It is endless....
From the maps we were given, we may have cleared but a third of the area so far... if that... The Lich(es) that rule this blighted land seem uninterested in us at the moment - at least so far... For all we know, they might be shoring up their defense awaiting our arrival... If so, I fear they may be worried for naught...
The deep arcane mysteries they have at their hands may be too much for our force to handle... I swear by Moradin's beard, Never in all my years have I ever wished for the company of a wizard as I do now... The Paladin and I will destroy what evil we can... With any luck, it will be the greatest of the evils... Then, perhaps, some our companions may escape Thay...
I am resigned to my fate... But I will claim my righteous vengeance in the fury of my blade upon the evils that reside here until I fall...

Journal entry Filrean of House Baenre
We've spent a day and a half inside this accursed Doomvault and it feels like it's been months. Every corner we turn every door we open leads to a battle for our lives, the trial is taking its toll on all of us.
In the short time I've been grinding through this dungeon my reservations about those tasked along with my brother and I to clear out this denizen of woe has evolved.
The Dwarven Priest, Hurdock. every Cleric and worshiper I've ever met had been a sanctimonious bore. Those who rely on the will of Gods for aid die alone with their faith shattered in those last moments, why should he be any different? ......but no, Hurdock has never spoken a word of his God nor his divine gifts. The priest's deeds and acts alone are his sole signs of devotion. battle after battle he heals the wounded, scars the undead with his holy light and razes the battlefield with the unfettered power of that Warhammer. There is no bravado or boasting (rare for a dwarf). There is something there, a weight on his shoulders, a guilt that I cannot place, perhaps his journey into the Doomvault is his penance.
The Gold Dragonborn Paladin, Thava. a Golden Dragonborn in shiny armor with shimmering silver weapons. The very culmination of self righteousness, I can feel my stomach contents beginning to rise up into my throat. She is stubborn, uncompromising, stoic, and.......stubborn! but she is also unyielding, noble, and courageous to a fault! in the short time we've journeyed through this hell she has pressed forth over and over again knowing what dangers and possible death awaits in the next room or around the next corner. When I fell in the swine run, I was doomed to have my soul enslaved to this place.....I awoke to those blue eyes and golden snout welcoming me back to life. There is no greater debt I owe her and one I fear I will never be able to repay. I know above all that I will loose every arrow from my quiver and snap my bow over any enemy charging toward me before I leave her in the red wizards hands.
The Wood Elf Druid, Aslin. Even to the eyes of my kind the wood elf is lovely. She is quiet, timid, and slender in all the right places, this place will tear her apart! I've never underestimated another soul more. she is as fierce and as deadly as the greatest beasts of the Underdark. The Druid of the grasslands shapeshifts her diminutive form into massive creatures akin to dragons or lizards the like of which I've never seen. She overwhelms our enemies with her size and ferocity and draws their attention away from us, she is magnificent! She has single handedly turn the tide of dozens of battles and save the lot of us. It hard to determine now which of her forms is the most breathtaking.
End of Entry

Well this is an interesting bunch. They went up against the Red Wizards training grounds and the liches with no arcane power behind them. It's really no wonder that some did not make it out alive. Brute force is all well and good, but to fight magic one typically needs a bit of magic. This place has been a bit dull as of late, and chance at sneak peek into the might behind the great Thayian empire, well that's just too tempting for this elf to ignore. At least the one will not pass out anytime he drops that pike.
I suppose it is time to dust off my gear and see if I can lend them my expertise as they try to better the world, or whatever it is they are doing. I really just have to hope that they are more competent then they seem at first glance.

From the Stone Tome of Thalin Dragonslayer...
I am no longer Soulbound dead and can leave...as can we all... I am considering the option... This evil may be beyond us... I find myself despondent...and frequently rendered ineffective... Give me a creature to stand toe-to-toe with and I'll gladly trade blows with them... But this place is a nightmare....
...We lost our Paladin....
She was my closest ally and the reason to cntinue this quest... I fear we may never be free of this place... It may be time to surrender all hope and leave... Perhaps some other adventurers can be more successful where we have not...
