Hello.
I'm pretty sure I played D&D 20-some-odd years ago. I would like to start playing again. Here's the kicker: I have a 6-year old daughter with a great imagination, and absolutely no regards for rules. What is the best way to introduce her to D&D?

Hello. I'm pretty sure I played D&D 20-some-odd years ago. I would like to start playing again. Here's the kicker: I have a 6-year old daughter with a great imagination, and absolutely no regards for rules. What is the best way to introduce her to D&D? First, I apologize for the tardiness of my reply. There are a couple of great starter sets out there (D&D 5th and Pathfinder are both awesome) but I think based on your circumstances maybe just some fun play would be a great place to start. Here is an article with a basic version of the game for kids dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/monsterslayers . I think you may need to tailor make something that fits your daughter's play-style and be willing to adapt or drop rules as her interest allows. There will be time to add those in before she encounters other players (although that should be a goal as even wonderfully imaginative players that try to explain why their first level character can fly and speak to unicorns may find new friends who play by the rules to be less than completely accepting.
