What you know
The Village of Hommlet – or merely “Hommlet,” as it is commonly called – is situated in the central part of the Flanaess, that portion of the western Oerik Continent which is known and “civilized.” The hamlet-sized village (local parlance having distinguished it with the greater term) is located some 30 leagues southeast of the town of Verbobonc, or thereabouts, on the fringe of the territory controlled by the noble Lord the Viscount of Verbobonc. It is at a crossroads.
To the north is the mighty Velverdyva River, along whose south bank runs the Low Road. Many days’ travel to the east, on the shores of the Lake of Unknown Depths (Nyr Dyv), is the great walled city of Dyvers. The village of Sobanwych lies about halfway along the route. Below that to the southeast and east are miles and miles of forest (the Gnarley), beyond which is the Wild Coast, Woolly Bay, and the Sea of Gearnat. The road south forks a league or so beyond the little community, one branch meandering off towards the Wild Coast, the other rolling through the lower Kron Hills to the village of Ostverk and then eventually turning southwards again into the elven kingdom of Celene. The western route leads into the very heart of the gnomish highlands, passing through Greenway Valley about a day’s travel distant and going onwards to the Lortmil Mountains far beyond.
Hommlet grew from a farm or two, a rest house, and a smithy. The roads brought a sufficient number of travelers and merchant wagons to attract tradesmen and artisans to serve those passing through. The rest-house became a thriving inn, and a wheel and wainwright settled in the thorp. More farmers and herdsmen followed, for grain was needed for the passing animals, and meat was in demand for the patrons of the inn.
Prosperity was great, for the lord of the district was mild and taxed but little. Trade was good, and the land was untroubled by war, outlaws, or ravaging beasts. The area was free, beautiful, and bountiful. Too much so, in the eyes of some.
Whether the evil came west from Dyvers (as is claimed by one faction) or crept up out of the forestlands bordering the Wild Coast (as others assert), come it did. At first it was only a few thieves and an odd group of bandits molesting the merchant caravans. Then came small bands of humanoids – kobolds or goblins – raiding the flocks and herds. Local militia and foresters of the Waldgraf of Ostverk apparently checked, but did not stop, the spread of outlawry and evil throughout the region.
A collection of hovels and their slovenly inhabitants formed the nucleus for the troubles which were to increase. A wicked cleric established a small chapel at this point. The folk of Hommlet tended to ignore this place, Nulb. But its out-of-the-way position was ideal for the fell purposes planned for this settlement, as was its position on a small river flowing into the Velverdyva. The thickets and marshes around Nulb became the lair and hiding place for bandits, brigands, and all sorts of evil men and monsters alike. The chapel grew into a stone temple as its faithful brought in their ill-gotten tithes. Good folk were robbed, pillaged, enslaved, and worse.
In but three years, a grim and forbidding fortress surrounded the evil place, and swarms of creatures worshiped and worked their wickedness therein. The servants of the Temple of Elemental Evil made Hommlet and the lands for leagues around a mockery of freedom and beauty. Commerce dwindled or ceased altogether, while crops were ignored and eventually withered. A deep malaise fell upon the once bountiful region, and pestilence was now abroad.
But the leaders of this cancer were full of hubris and, in their overweening pride, sought to overthrow the good realms to the north, who were coming to the rescue of the land being crushed under the tyranny wrought by the evil temple. A great battle was fought in the Emridy Meadows, northwest of Hommlet.
When the good people of Hommlet saw streams of ochre-robed men and humanoids fleeing south and west through their community, there was great rejoicing, for they knew that the murderous oppressors had been defeated and driven from the field in panic and rout. So great was the slaughter, so complete the victory of Good, that the walled stronghold of the Temple of Elemental Evil fell within a fortnight, despite the aid of a terrible demon. The place was ruined and sealed against a further return of such abominations by powerful blessings and magic.
Life in Hommlet quickly returned to a semblance of its former self, before the rise of the temple. For five years afterward, the village and the surrounding countryside have become richer and more prosperous than ever before. A monstrous troll which plagued the place for a time was hunted down by a party of passing adventurers. Carrying the ashes and a goodly fortune as well, the adventurers returned to the village. Before going elsewhere to seek their fortunes, the adventurers also returned a portion of the villagers’ losses. Other adventurers, knowing of the evil that had once resided in the area, came to seek out similar caches, and several did find remote lairs and wealth – just as some never returned at all.
After a time, adventurers stopped coming to the area. It seemed that no monsters were left to slay, and no evil existed here to be stamped out. The villagers heaved a collective sigh. Some villagers pained at the loss of income, but others relieved by the return to the quiet, normal life. And so Hommlet continued its quiet existence for four years more.
But then, perhaps a year ago, the bandits began to ply their nefarious trade along the roads again, and bands of humanoids prowled about the countryside - not too frequently, but to some effect nevertheless. To the good folk of Hommlet, this seemed all too familiar, so they sent word to the Viscount that wicked forces might still lurk thereabouts. This information has been spread throughout the countryside, and the news has attracted outsiders to the village once again. Who and what these mercenaries are, no one can be quite sure. All claim to be bent on slaying monsters and bringing peace and security to Hommlet; but deeds speak more loudly than words, and often lies cloak the true purposes of the malevolent.

Well getting ready to teleport Tiny has engaged the bald of the sun blade even as Girf protests Tiny scoffs once again getting ready to say something to Girf there is a flash of light. Looking around Tiny does not recognize the room he finds himself in now. Slightly worried he looks around for his party and notices everyone is there. He breaths a sigh of relief. But then he notices a figure that does not match one of his party members and he dawns his shield to ready for a fight alerting the other members.
After a battle they find another creature and fight it as well recourses and others ready to rest they search and identify some objects. Then they continue their exploration of the temple. The party finds another foe. But before they can engage it starts to flee from the party. Tiny gives chase and follows the foe to a big room. As he prepares for a new fight he sees a new monster he has never fought. 'WE HAVE A BIG ONE' Tiny shouts as he growls and grows getting ready for the fight by embracing the might of a giant to fight.
This battle is hard with a long fight and movement there are a few close calls but as the fight drags on Tiny looks around noticing one of his new party members has fallen and he shouts and strikes the monster with a massive blow felling the creature and turning his attention to the last enemy with the party they make short work and now take time to rest and recover from a hard fought victory.

After the fight with the new monster the party explored finding a owlbare they the fight after the fight the party notices that the being was chained up maybe part of the zoo that the cult had made. feeling a little bad about the incident Tiny feels a little conflicted about killing the beast that did not really know better.
After that Zee and Tiny turn their attention to the big door Tiny bends the bars that prevented it from opening well Zee opened the door. After stepping into the room The party was meet with some sort of alter and pit. Tiny starts to approach the thing that seems like a alter as Tiny inspects the alter he notices a mist or smoke that seems to just float above the ground giving the room a amanous feeling. Tiny looks at the alter and notices 2 crystal daggers and a crystal bowl as he takes one of the daggers he gets a strange feeling and looks over noticing some sort of mist monster has entered the room. Tiny starts to make his way towards it readying to fight it. Just then Garlic flies over to one of the hanging brasiers and tips it over as he does the room starts to fill with a dark and purple mist "What are you doing" Tiny says in anger as he can no longer see and the room become encompassed in the smoke. Then Clay shouts I am getting us out of here as he teleports away with Kelock Zee and Tiny decide to stay behind. As they port away Tiny feels something trying to attach him so he swings back missing because of the stupid gas. "We need to get out of here" Tiny says as he seems to take some damage from the strange gas or mist. He tries to make his way to the door as Zee opens it and Girf runs towards it .Tiny leaves the room dropping the dagger and his sun blade to grebe the door for Zee "I have it Get out of there you are the last one" He shouts before the mist surges out of the room. Tiny waits for his friend to leave the room and he drops the door "Run we need to get out of this gas" He shouts as he move up the ramp towards the first floor past Kelock "Get that thing under control" He says referring to garlic.
Tiny makes his way back down the ramp after the gas dissipates and opens the door once more the gas once again surging forth. Tiny drops the door and runs past Kelock back to the rest of the party "We should head to the other way down that the orcs know of" Tiny suggested as he downs a healing potion and looks around. letting out a sigh of the missed battle because of some stupid gas. "It might be better the shrine might be move there too" Tiny says as he re lights the sub bade to give the party light again "Lets head out" He says still a little frustrated
As we explore we find a minotaur statue as Tiny and Zee approach it awakens "Oh it was not a statue" Tiny says in shock as it charges forward to the two "Well Looks like I can get some of this anger out. Delta" He shouts before moving to the flank and waiting for Zee to get into position and with the help of the party we make quick work of the beast/ "Lets look around there might be something here" Tiny says as they search Clay finds a bag with a scroll and a few gems and Tiny finds a secret door "Hey guys there is a door here" Tiny says as he opens the door and is hit by a battering ram 'I should really check these things' Tiny thinks to himself as he looks into the room and notices what seems to be sleeping men he thinks maybe they could be saint Cutberth members. So he enters the room not looking for a fight but ready for one. Unfortunately (for them) they are are cultists so not friend but foe. So a battle beaks out with one of them calling for help and as they fight Girf actually does something impressive and takes out a bunch of the enemy with burring hands. Tiny thinks he might have miss jugged him then laughs as he thinks to his tally. Never mind he laughs as the door closes leaving the remaining enemies cut off and behind the closed door.

"It is time to get the rest of them ready?" Tiny asks as he pulls the torch and finds the man the fled and two other men in the room. The party makes quick work of them and when they are done the decide to search though Zee wanted to check the other room Tiny thought they were fine. They were not and another fight ensued once a gain they go to work and fight the cult members. "we are going to win keep fighting" Tiny says as he starts to feel stronger and filled with something the he could not feel before and when the last enemy is killed Tiny hears a voice in his head and his hand starts to glow bright and he finds himself with a new ability granted by St.cuthbert. Now a Paladin Tiny turns to Zee with a laugh and smile "You might have been right we should have checked the room" Tiny says as they check the doorway behind a tapestry. Finding nothing down the hallway they try to rest and search for items. They find some good item and a shield with a device to shoot poisoned that Tiny destroys feeling that is it evil and feeling compelled to do so.
The party wants to identify any items and try to attune to any good ones also Kelock wants to summon a new familiar. Well we are attuning and Kelock is summoning a new familiar we are ambushed by a group of bugbear. "Seems some gusts have found us" Tiny things as he looks to Zee who has also noticed them everyone else is caught off guard so the and they seem to be faster than Tiny this time but not Zee as he gets a good strike in and the fight commences. These bugbears seem to be smarted as they quickly flank Tiny and Zee but that is not enough to stop them "We must fight" tiny says as he feels stronger with his connection to the St. and it seems like his other abelites got stronger too though they are not connected "This is a flank...Delta" Tiny says as his Sun Blade ignites in a green flame and he strikes true and deals a massive blow felling one of the enemies and wounding another. Then Tiny move to provide a better flank "This is how you fight" Tiny shouts as he helps his party members and a few moments later the party ends the fight with better tactics and teamwork.
After the ambush and attuning they decide to go back and search another room to find another fight "You ready?" Tiny ask as he rushes forward to kill the cultists they have found and now more motivated to find the temple

Finally making their way back to the room the party finds themself in the same room that held the poison fog. "It is still here" Tiny shouts as he gets ready for a fight against the shadowy figure The party prepare for the fight and all work together to kill the creature. After the battle the party searches the room and find nothing. Tiny and Zee notice that is a place to hold liquids in the bottom of the braziers so the look at each other and try to pour holy water into them.
Once they are done pouring the flasks there is a fizzing and a pop as 2 Creatures appear One in front of tiny and the other with the rest of the party " I will hold this one off you guys take care of that one" Tiny says as he readies himself for what he thinks will be a dangerous foe. The fight drags out and the creatures resist both of his runes and Tiny finds himself struggling to fight this creature alone. He takes a hit that should have put him down but he know if he goes down his party will be fighting two of the creatures though they might be able to take them he will not not that happen. He shrugs off the blow and spits blood towards the creature "That all you got" He taunts as he strikes it with his trusty sun blade empowered with green flame knowing the damage will be better then his shield. "he attaches again and manages to block and dodge it's attacks as his party finishes the other creature and come to his aid "Thank you but I almost had it" Tiny jokes in a strained slightly pained voice. The fight is not long for that as the five make fast work for the monster and beaten and bloody "That was a close one thank you friends I think I might need a rest now" Tiny says as they make their way to a room with a fire
As they are getting ready to rest Tiny is looking at a ring and hears some movement "you have got to be kidding me" He says as he looks to the door behind him and sees three ogres "We have compony" Tiny says as he dawns his shield and readies a attack and Kelock launches a fire ball over Tiny's shoulder after that the ogres rush in and Tiny is able to strike on one of them and gets ready for a fight once again on death's porch. Thankfully they make short work of the three unwelcome guests and are able to rest and get ready to venture forth deeper into the temple
